A leading UK Retailer based in the South is seeking a Senior IT Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis to be part of an exciting global I.T Digital Transformation project.
This is a newly created role in a new team where the Senior IT Financial Controller will be able to build and own processes that ensures the success of the IT function to perform against budget and be responsible for the strategic planning and oversight of the financial control of an IT function. The Senior IT Financial Controller will also be responsible for Technology Business Management thought leadership and ensuring cost containment and benefits tracking across IT operations and delivery teams. The role will also ensure the IT cost model and budget are managed, including cost transparency and chargeback where appropriate.
Experience Required
* Strong strategic planning experience
* Strong Technology/I.T experience and an understanding of I.T disciplines e.g cloud, networks, SAP, eCommerce etc.
* Experience of working on Digital Transformation Projects
* Experience in financial reporting, financial planning, annual budgeting
* Consultancy/ Accountancy / Budget experience and /or qualification
* Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver projects within budget
* Strong leadership and influencing experience at a senior level. Able to challenge senior leadership and provide guidance on VFM
* Foster a ‘best idea wins’ culture, where team members are encouraged to focus on outcomes

Key areas of responsibility:
* Acting as Finance subject matter expert for the IT team, the Senior IT Financial Controller will provide guidance on business cases and benefits tracking, working closely with TBS Finance team
* Reviewing new business proposals and providing specialist advice on finance and benefits tracking issues
* Overseeing delivery of IT Cost Transparency budget, forecast and monthly variance analysis
* Supporting wider IT functions to align work to appropriate resources across the team to ensure work is completed in the most efficient and impactful way
* Creating and maintaining the strategic plan and roadmap for the IT function against business objectives, ensuring it is aligned with innovation and performance improvements and the wider IT functions are aware of their responsibilities within the plan.
* Ensure the strategic plan and roadmap aligns to the business OKR’s, 3 year plans and budgets/forecast.
Please note that you will be required to travel to the London office a couple of times a month.
