The Digital, Data & Technology Department (DDaT) is seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer (Applications Support).

Significant change in service provision is anticipated and it is vital to have effective, proactive engagement with other departments and faculties. This will address a key improvement required within the Evolution project to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver greater efficiency, coherence, cooperation, and coordination.

The Senior Engineer role sits within the Delivery & Operations pillar within DDaT. As a Senior Engineer within the Platforms & Applications group, you will be working at 2nd and 3rd line, undertaking installation, configuration, support and maintenance of software applications and services that are key to the operation of the University.

There is a market supplement of up to £1,000 available at our discretion, based on skills and experience.

About you 

You will be a subject matter expert and trusted partner, working professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, business stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers, to configure, support, and maintain software, applications and services, that deliver the required business outcomes.

Capable of operating across a wide-ranging technology stack including SaaS, PaaS, and Commercial off the Shelf, you will help manage the transition of new elements into operational service, perform capacity planning and performance management, day-to-day operations, and delivery of new services, systems and solutions, in line with the agreed project portfolio, to ensure they are meeting the current and future requirements of the University.
