Senior Dev Ops (on-prem & cloud) Engineer

A well established global company that specialises in developing software for the oil and gas industry is looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their friendly team. This is a permanent, full time position based in Newcastle, with some flexibility to work from home and occasional travel to the London office.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm

Salary: Open to negotiation

Responsibilities:

* Help define the overall strategy and execute the technical delivery of the company build and test execution environments

* Define and configure appropriate cloud capabilities to support our strategic technical objectives

* Provide data security assurance and technical consultancy to maintain our data integrity

* Assist in planning and estimating overall dev-ops workload

* Mentor and assist staff

* Provide escalation support for the customer Helpdesk and IT Support

Requirements:

* Certification or equivalent commercial experience with one or more public cloud vendors, ideally AWS or Azure Architect level

* Experience of security across a broad IT spectrum, ideally to ISO27001

* Detailed understanding of source control systems such as Git or Mercurial

* Experience of Windows and Linux

* Experience of working within an agile environment

* Experience of build/release/test pipelines and automation

* Broad experience of hardware both server and desktop

* Track record of driving solutions that resulted in measurable productivity benefits.
