Role: Senior Data Engineer Location – Manchester / Edinburgh / Birmingham Multiple Roles Available Salary DoE – £75,000 plus benefits package Work Pattern – Hybrid – 1-3 days a week on client site. The Role This is a traditional consulting role, you’ll get to use your extensive technical experience to help their clients in all areas of development, maintenance and integration of their high-level data systems. There are multiple roles available, they require time on client site (travel to which is covered on expenses) so are effectively hybrid positions but there is little requirement to go into the companies head office, perhaps a couple of times a year. We have client sites in London, Edinburgh and the Midlands so realistically you can be anywhere in the UK, as long as you can reach one of these hubs. Responsibilities: As a Data Engineer you will design, develop, test, and deploy solutions for strategic projects. You’ll create data platforms based around modern, cloud-native technologies but also complete tasks such as: Build Data Pipelines using Python, SQL, Lambda, and Step Functions.Build Data Models that are optimised for business usability and comprehension.Develop and optimise data tables for performance using best practices for partitioning, parallelisation.Collaboration and implementation of solutions aligned with Architectural best practices and AWS Well-Architected Framework, guided by senior team members.Collaboration design and implementation of a highly available, robust, cost-effective, fault-tolerant systems.Implementation of Cloud Architecture patterns based on their approved standards, and foster innovation in simple patterns aligned with their customer needs.Educate their team members on implementing best practices and provide technical support to accelerate learning among their team members.Develop and maintain metadata to augment their data catalogue and support the creation of documentation to be used by the client’s technical and business customers.Collaborate with internal business customers in the troubleshooting and optimisation of SQL and reporting solutions to solve and improve business outcomes. Requirements: Strong technical background in the AWS cloud technology stackExperience in finance, banking, insurance, asset management or other highly regulated sector is ideal.Any experience with Azure, alongside AWS is a bonus but certainly not essential.
