Senior Consultant, Circular Economy

Our client is an employee-owned, independent environmental consultancy with a 30-year heritage in the waste and resources sector. The company is looking to build on their strengths and track record of providing quality, impactful support in the areas of circular economy and resource efficiency in the built environment / construction sector. An exciting opportunity therefore exists for a Senior Consultant to join the Circular Economy consultancy team, focusing mainly but not exclusively on the built environment / construction sector. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step and become a senior consultant, or a senior consultant looking to develop a specialism area and to contribute to the growth of a purpose driven environmental consultancy.

Essential Requirements:

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject

* Minimum 5 years’ experience in either the built environment / construction or resources and waste sector

* Excellent knowledge of technical issues and developments across resources and waste and circular economy issues.

* Proven track record of taking the lead on specified work areas and supporting organisations, assessing opportunities and implement change around the areas of resource, waste and/or carbon management.

* Knowledge and understanding of at least two of the following topic areas: Resource efficiency and waste prevention strategies for construction projects, Circular Economy Business Models, Circular Economy Route Maps, Net Zero Carbon (NZC), Buildings As Material Banks and/or Circular Economy Planning Statements.

* A demonstrated ability to undertake business development and marketing activities to build client relationships.

* Proven ability to present complex information and ideas to diverse range of audiences.

* Excellent report writing skills.

* Highly competent IT user, particularly Microsoft Packages, including Word and Excel.

* Current UK driving licence.

Desirables:

* Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject

* Professional membership (e.g. CIWM, IEMA)

* Experience in developing models to quantify embodied carbon emissions, and of the associated datasets used in such models.

* An understanding of assessment methodologies such as BREEAM, LEED, SKA, and the WELL Building Standard.
