Senior Chemist

Job description

Tradebe are looking for a Senior Site Chemist for our busy site in Knowsley, Liverpool.

Main purpose of the role:

• To ensure Tradebe’s incoming waste loads are receipted in line with BMS procedures.
• To ensure that the day’s paperwork is scanned by close of business each day.
• To ensure Tradebe’s waste load routing, preparation and dispatch is completed to BMS standards, in a timely manner and planned correctly to avoid any non-conformance from receiving sites.
• To provide a technical management service to assist the Operations Department
• To organise the site chemists to achieve the above objectives

The person

• HNC or chemistry degree
• Ability to liaise and communicate with all areas of the business.
• Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required. SAP is a desirable skill but training will be provided if required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Problem solving and decisiveness

The role

• To support and control the site’s analytical testing and assessment requirements including all EA/UU technical issues.
• To ensure acceptance and dispatch operations are in line with the company’s BMS, ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 systems.
• To identify and report on opportunities and trends in the site’s technical control/analysis systems, so that the Company can effectively develop its continuous improvement programme.
• To raise non-conformances on any incoming loads in line with BMS procedures immediately
• To generate load/dispatch paper-work in line with company & legislative requirements.
• To coach, train and support the junior Site Chemists to ensure outgoing exceeds incoming
• To maintain effective record keeping and documentation, to include the running of the sites stock control system, production records and in-process records.
• To co-operate fully with colleagues in order to support the Company’s efforts in growth.
