My client is a high profile London based developer working predominantly within mix use developments and low/medium rise apartment blocks. They are a very successful, growing business who have been delivering highly desired living space throughout London for over 35 years. The role will initially be a hands on role managing the design consultancies, external stakeholders and working with in house teams. ROLE:
This is a key appointment which is integral for the business to continue to achieve their revenue targets in the future. You will be responsible for managing structural engineering design role within the companies preconstruction division.
* Defining the structural strategy for development opportunities with a strong focus on value engineering.
* Providing a clear brief to the project Technical Manager and external consultants.
* Participation in internal and external design reviews coordinating the team and the design interfaces of the specialist suppliers
* Commercial awareness to highlight strategy changes to ensure design is delivered in line with estimates.
* Manage personal time in working across multiple work fronts (multiple live projects)
* Participation in site surveys with a focus on identifying constraints
* Managing the production of Demolition and Enabling Construction Documents
* Temporary Works reviews
* Liaise with GI/SI consultant to produce concept remediation schemes and costing for brownfield solutions
PERSON:
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded Structural Engineer who has a passion for Civil / Structural Engineering. You will have demonstrable project lead experience and proven UK industry experience. You will be confident, innovative and offer solutions and ideas.
* Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject
* Chartered with ICE or IStructE
* Sound knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques
* Production and input in to internal reports
* Aware of and able to use codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
* Aware of and able to use standards and specifications
* Extensive brownfield experience
* Strong knowledge of RC, traditional masonry and hybrid structures
* Familiar with levels of details required for fabrication drawings
* Candidate will report directly to the Head of Engineering
REMUNERATION:
* up to £60,000 – £90,000 per annum (Depending upon experience)
