SEN Teacher

SEN Teacher

Job Description

1:1 SEN Teaching Opporrtuntiy!

  • Are you a qualified Primary or Secondary Teacher who is looking to step away from the traditional classroom setting?
  • Are you tired of planning, marking and assessing for 30+ students in your class in addition to full teaching responsibilities?
  • Are you wanting a better work-life balance than teaching has offered you, but still want to give back to the young people you teach?
  • Are you looking to make a real difference to the lives of the students you work with?
  • Have you always wished you had more time to give to individual pupils in your class who need your support the most?
  • Have you always wanted more planning time timetabled into your day, rather than taking the work home with you?
  • Have you always wanted your teaching work to be flexible around your life, rather than the other way round?

If the above applies to you, look no further! TimePlan Education have an exciting opportunity starting in the New Year for a Teacher to work in this interesting role situated around Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton, Hampton and Teddington areas specifically.

  • SEN Teacher Role in: Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton, Hampton and Teddington
  • SEN Teacher Role Start Date: ASAP
  • SEN Teacher Contract: Full Time/ Part Time

The role will see you teaching on a 1:1 basis to students who fall into one of the following categories:

  • They’re in mainstream mostly, but currently undergoing extra teaching support to see if they are able to stay in mainstream or would be better suited to a specialist school
  • They have health issues so cannot attend mainstream school
  • They have special education needs so need extra support, however, haven’t got a specialist school placement yet, so are receiving 1:1 teaching whilst they wait for a school place to become available for them. Most students have some sort of ESBD, but behaviour is not usually an issue. You will be matched with students most suited to your availability and experience.

The tuition work will take place:

  • At the student’s home if applicable (i.e. the pupil has anxiety etc which makes it difficult for them to leave their house and attend school). The student’s parent will be present and possibly a member of the support staff team where appropriate.
  • At places of interest such as local libraries or Youth Centres
  • Sometimes within a mainstream school, if the student still attends mainstream school
  • Mostly at the tuition centres, which are based around the Kingston borough (they have 3 main hubs).

We are looking for qualified Teachers for this role. You don’t need to have SEN experience, although this would probably be helpful. Full training will be provided and the opportunity to shadow other Teachers doing a similar thing. The workload is pretty flexible, however, the minimum they normally look for 3 days per week, so please do not apply if you are only looking for 1 or 2 days of work per week.

If this sounds like something that would suit you, please call us today for more information!!
