Science Technician

Full Time (37 hours per week): Term Time only – One Year Contract

Hours 8.30: 4.30 with some flexibility to meet the demands of the service

Our client a school in Northumberland is a good school who now require a Science Technician to join their well-resourced Science Department. The Science Technician will provide an efficient and effective support service to teachers focused on the practical and technical aspects of the Science Curriculum. You will co-ordinate the use of practical resources, materials and facilities for teaching staff and students in the use of scientific equipment in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

You will have previous laboratory experience and/or a background in science along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Would also suit a science greaduate who may be interested in studying for a PGCE in the future and is ideally looking to gain exprience in a school environment. The ability to work to tight deadlines and to communicate successfully with staff and students is essential.

GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English is essential. A level 3 Science qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
