School Network Manager

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Due to succession planning, we are seeking an adept and competent Network Manager to be responsible for the whole management, installation, maintenance and security of the schools’ network, hardware & software systems across two sites.

Leading a team of two staff, an ICT Technician and an apprentice, you will ensure the smooth running of the schools IT service for the both the curriculum and administration to achieve a safe, secure and efficient environment for both staff and students.

This is a varied and challenging role from managing projects relating to the IT service, controlling the budget and full financial planning for the IT department, liaising with third party contractors in negotiating on best value and overseeing projects. You will manage the schools’ central server and support network for email, video conferencing, CCTV and website and ensure data integrity is maintained through the monitoring of stringent security measures, attending meetings with the SLT to promote compliance and Health & Safety legislation.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level coupled with evidence of professional development, ideally with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role. You must have good communication skills and can quickly gain trust of your peers, possess a thorough understanding of networks and have experience of working with a diverse range of people, successfully leading small to medium size teams.

Experience in education is preferable, however, the school will be happy to consider applications from the public and private sector.
