Salary: £26,000 per year

Job Title: Scheme Caretaker

Department:Accord Works – Estates

Hours:37.5 hours per week Mon – Fri

Job Summary:

To undertake a mobile caretaking role, as required on a variety of sites.

Responsibilities:

Service Delivery

To carry out improvement work, rubbish removal etc, in accordance with service specifications.

To report repairs and any potential hazards discovered on any site to your appropriate line manager.

Health and Safety

To inspect areas for hazards prior to work commencing and to make sure that all sites are in a safe and orderly condition during and after works.

To use appropriate and functional work equipment in a safe manner and to report defects, faults or repairs to the appropriate supervisor.

To comply with safe working practices at all times

To ensure the safety and welfare of people in the vicinity at all times.

To work in accordance with Health and safety policy/procedures and be responsible for on site health and safety.

To be aware of COSHH regulations in relation to cleaning materials, and to ensure compliance with manufacturer`s instructions and controls.

To be aware of and comply with manual handling policy and procedures.

To ensure familiarisation with fire precautions, and to act in accordance with procedure in the event of a fire.

General

To complete weekly time sheets/vehicle checklists and maintain records of works carried out and timings of travel and operations.

To be responsible for a company vehicle, as delegated.

To maintain effective communication within the team and where appropriate with other staff, contractors, tenants and other stakeholders.

To maintain high standards of customer service and be considerate of tenants needs.

To work with tenants and encourage their involvement.

To adhere to the Association`s policies and procedures in particular Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Smoking, Second Hand Smoke, Alcohol and Drug Policy.

To attend training and development activities, team meetings and other association events as required.

Any other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post, or to assist the Association in the fulfilment of its objectives, commensurate with the post holder`s grade, abilities and aptitude.

Please note a full clean driving licence is essential.
