Safeguarding Officer
Job Description
Age UK is currently looking to hire a Safeguarding Officer into an established team, whose primary objective is to provide effective advice and expertise concerning safeguarding cases across Age UK, our local partners and subsidiaries.
If you can implement and deliver safeguarding training across an organisation, ensure our safeguarding procedures are efficient and audited accurately, advocate best practice around safeguarding across the organisation, all whilst managing a safeguarding case log – please apply below.
This role offers hybrid working between home and the London office (EC3N 2LB). Currently the Safeguarding team meet once a quarter in one of the Age UK offices (London, Ashburton or Blackpool).
This position is part-time working 25 hours per week across 5 days (Monday to Friday). The salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.
Age UK internal grade – 7N
Must haves:
* Demonstrable experience of safeguarding work with children and/or adults within a statutory or voluntary organisation.
* Experience in providing effective safeguarding advice and guidance in line with safeguarding legislation, taking a person centred approach.
* Experience of delivering training.
* Experience of undertaking audits and collating and producing data.
* A good working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Teams, Excel and Outlook.
* Proven ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage time.
Great to haves:
* Understanding of data protection and Mental Capacity Act legislation.
* An understanding of wider issues that may cause individuals to be in vulnerable circumstances.
* Knowledge of using Power Bi for reporting purposes.

Please note the salary is pro-rated due the position being 25 hours per week and will require occasional travel.
