Rooftop Electrician

We are looking to recruit teams of electricians for our EE projects on a long term basis. We are looking for a lead electrician with a 2 nd man to work in teams across sites predominantly South of the Midlands area.

Essential skills required;

Holds C&G 2382-10 17 th Edition
Holds C&G 2391 or 2395
First aid trained
Rooftop access trained
RF awareness
Manual handing
Asbestos awareness
Arqiva accreditation
Health and Safety working safely

Operatives must be familiar with the TMUK and H3G transmission network. Operatives must be able to demonstrate they have worked on the following radios for a period of not less than 3 years.

Transport and tooling

Work will include travel nationally. Operative will be required to provide their own suitable van and overnight accommodation if required.
Own tooling and test equipment to be provided from the candidate.
Test equipment must have a valid calibration certificate. The cmpany will pay for calibration when required.

Minimum tooling requirement is:

Multifunction test meter (17 th Edition).
AC/DC voltage detector capable of working from 6-600 volts.
Lock out kit.
Insulated tools.
Basic hand tools.
Drill for both metal and masonry.
Own PPE.
Laptop and printer.
Dymo/Brother label machine or equivalent.

Specialist safety equipment such as Fall arrest and RF NARDA will be provided.

Scope of work

Installation of new Eltek -48VDC PSU in mobile telecommunications cabins. Delivery of hardware and recovery of decommissioned equipment will be carried out by our dedicated logistics company.

Provision of suitable / adequate AC power.
Testing and certification of newly installed AC supply to current requirements of BS7671.
Safe decommissioning and removal of existing battery backup to ensure space for PSU.
Provision of an AC power supply circuit to power new PSU.
Installation and commissioning of a new PSU.
Installation and commissioning of battery backup on sites where requested.
Cut over existing Transmission racks from +24 Volt to -48 Volt along with radio equipment.
Decommission and remove old +24 Volt PSUs.
