Job Description
Restaurant Manager requiredfor a lovely Café and Takeaway, located on the Devon coast. Nearest main town is Kingsbridge. This property is on a bus route, however a car would be advantageous. If you enjoy working at a coastal location, this could be for you.
The Café is planned to be open the following:
Winter: 9.30-3.30
May, June, July, August and part of September, open from 10-8/9pm so the shift would be 11.30-8/9ish
As Restaurant Manager, responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant’s revenue, profitability, and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and a strong character to command the front and back of the house. You will know how to oversee the dining room, check in with customers, and balance seating capacity. Back-of-the-house management skills are also essential, as you’ll hire Cooks and front-of-house Staff, set work schedules, oversee food prep, and make sure the establishment complies with health and safety restaurant regulations.
You will lead by example and assist staff during busy moments of the fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and customers have a pleasant dining experience.
Responsibilities for the role of Restaurant Manager:
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
- Organize and supervise shifts
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses
- Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
The salary for the role of Restaurant Manager, is given as £23,000 to £26,500 / per annum – a full time role / 5 day week over 7, mostly working day time shifts. You will need to live in the local area as there is no live in available with this role. Transport – car is desirable due to location. Please note your main holiday break will need to be taken during the month of December as the café will be closed for most of this month on an annual basis.
