We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within our fantastic Field Sales Team for a Regional Sales Development Manager, to cover the West Midlands & Wales territory. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced field sales professional or somebody with a huge passion for sales looking to start their career within the largest food manufacturer in the world.

A day in the life of a Regional Sales Development Manager …  

Reporting to a Head of National Sales Team, as a Regional Sales Development Manager, you are primarily responsible for the growth of sales within your region through effective account management and new business growth. You will be responsible for the ongoing management of regional and national accounts within your area and targeted on the growth of these, along with introducing new customers to our company.

You will also:

  • Establish strong customer relationships across the portfolio of 6 Nestlé categories: Waters, Food, Dairy, Hot Beverages, Confectionery & Nestlé Professional within the Foodservice and Wholesale channel
  • Engage and develop a deep customer contact matrix across the board i.e. supply chain, sales, marketing, telesales and regional sales teams
  • Manage current accounts to ensure sales volume grows year after year;
  • Identify, engage, plan and develop new regional & national accounts
  • Develop all current accounts and business opportunities by working collaboratively with Customer Business Managers and reporting on key sales fundamentals i.e. distribution gap closing, increase of shelf space or range
  • Oversee account compliance to ensure company agreements are maximized to their full potential
  • Sell into target accounts, identify prospects and create new ideas to generate new revenue opportunities
  • Represent the company at conferences and trade shows
  • Proactively monitor monthly reports on revenue vs. goal forecasts and provide key customer insights to present to the internal National Account Managers for actions that would drive business growth or identify risks to the business
  • Execution is everything – your work isn’t finished until the product is visible and shoppable in outlets, so we stand out from the competition
  • Self-sufficient, you can create your own priorities to deliver the best outcome for the business and customer

You need to be highly self-motivated with a hunger to be successful and possess a winner’s mentality along with the right attitude for this role. This field-based role requires someone with good organisational skills and the ability to multitask. Your drive will come from a desire to achieve results and play your part in a wider team. You will need a proven track record in regional sales along with strong references.

You will also have:

  • Proven work experience as a Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager
  • Ideally have Foodservice/Wholesale customer experience
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent proficiency on MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A valid driving license for the UK
