Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 plus benefits and bonus

We are one of Bedford’s most respected manufacturing businesses. Due to expansion, we are now recruiting for an experienced R and D/Research and Development Engineer. We invite applications from candidates with a passion for design & analysis and developing ideas, the tenacity to solve problems and create solutions and the ability to design efficiently and cost effectively when required.

Research and Development/R and D Engineer

3D & 2D CAD, all packages considered
Experience with various materials is vital
Blank sheet design ability must be demonstrated
Experience with a multitude of different design areas – (pneumatics, fabrications, machined components, rotating elements, sensors, actuators, conveyors, drive mechanisms, gears)
Assisting other engineers with ideas and concepts
Capable of being hands on in a lab environment
Strong experience with tolerances and fits
Commercially aware, design for manufacture, design for cost effectiveness, design for assembly
Able to research technology for new concepts
Experience in translating a customer’s needs into a design solution
Experience with lab testing is crucial
