R&D Supervisor – Manage A Team of Chemists

A leading pharmaceutical company in Waterford are expanding their Research and Development department. They are looking for a R&D supervisor to support Product Development and Commercial Supply by ensuring all components, raw materials and finished products are tested to agreed schedules and develop and validate analytical test methods which ensure quality and efficacy of the product.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at a supervisor level in a fast expanding company, where you will have a team of chemists reporting to you. The pharmaceutical company carry out both R&D and commercial manufacturing on site in Waterford.

As the R&D supervisor you will be responsible for:

– Project Planning:
– Together with the R&D Manager, actively plan each new development project.
– Determine tasks and resources required to deliver each project.

– Compliance:
– To ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with the required standards conforming to company, cGxP, SOPs, regulatory regulations and guidelines, safety and environmental guidelines.
– Vigilantly watch over job processes and tasks of a team of chemists.

– To identify and make recommendations for improvements as part of a team to ensure continuous improvement.
– To test and analyse components/raw materials/finished products in a timely & efficient manner.
– To troubleshoot, develop and validate robust, sound analytical methods.
– To support all other on-going laboratory functions & requirements.
– To complete all QC batch documentation correctly in order to achieve a high level of customer service and cGMP.
– To prepare Submission Documentation in support of licence applications.

Requirements:
Third level degree.
At least two years experience working in a related environment.
Project Management Skills

Salary range: €38,000-€45,000 depending on experience
