Salary: £26,000 – £31,200 per year

Using your Quality Management System experience from a mechanical engineering manufacturing environment as the Quality Technician you’ll help drive up quality, reduce rejects, improve procedures and save money.

This hands-on varied role has everything from QC checks to process development, auditing to shop floor skill development and is for a range of quality engineered products with a profitable and successful business that is driving forward a high calibre culture with personal and product development.

Quality Technician – what you will be doing:

* Supporting the Quality Supervisor with the varied tasks in a small and dedicated team

* Physical inspection of raw materials and supplied components

* Staff training and development to ensure adherence to the QMS ISO2015:9001

* Developing and updating the Quality Management System to bring continuous improvement to the business

* Finished goods inspection and release, collate and feedback information, use 8D problem solving to resolve issues

* Be part of a team where flexibility, initiative and a proactive approach are encouraged

About you as the Quality Technician:

* You will have a good understanding of quality management systems in an engineering manufacturing environment, able to maintain production quality to ISO9001:2015 standards

* Accurately use manual measurement equipment (Vernier, Micrometre, thread gauges etc) and report any deviations, taking corrective actions to avoid supplier or internal repetition of issues

* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written as you will be working closely with the production teams, suppliers and customers so you can challenge the status quo and bring continuous improvement ideas to the table

* Able to read and interpret 2D CAD drawings, using your mechanical and engineering knowledge (welding knowledge advantageous)

* Experience in conducting internal audits of the QMS, ideally some supplier audit exposure, then reporting, logging and tracking non-conformances to proactively close out

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly, Excel, Word and Outlook

Salary and benefits: £26,000 – £31,200 d.o.e. + 25 days holiday + sick pay with options to join pension and healthcare schemes

Hours: Monday – Friday either 07:00 – 15:00 or 08:00 – 16:00 by arrangement
