Our client is a cutting-edge global Engineering and Manufacturing business, currently looking for a Quality specialist/Material Inspector to join their team.

Working alongside a multi-functional team, the Quality Specialist will be responsible for the verification and inspection of incoming materials and in-process material certification through manufacturing, heat treatment, and welding within the metallurgy laboratory.

The Role

• Verify and inspect incoming materials, ensuring compliance with national and internal standards.
• Provide support to various departments, including supply chain, procurement, engineering, and heat treatment teams.
• Interpret material certification and perform visual and dimensional inspections.
• Manage non-conformance reports, conduct ISO 9001:2015 audits, and ensure compliance with quality and health & safety procedures.
• Liaise with 3rd party material laboratories and support external heat treatment, material testing, or verification.

Requirements

• Experience in Materials verification, Metallurgy, Heat treatment, or Material inspecting.
• Knowledge of quality control and inspection in an engineering environment.
• Ability to interpret material certification and understand engineering instructions, control plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge/Experience in low alloy steel production, hardening heat treatment, and other ferrous/non-ferrous materials.
• Familiarity with materials testing, non-destructive testing disciplines, welding, and fabrication inspection.
