I am currently working with a sub-contract sheet metalworking business based in Rugby. Due to growth, they now have a requirement for a Quality Inspector to join their existing Quality team based on the shop floor, working on one of various shift patterns.
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector will be inspecting manufactured components using height gauges, verniers and micrometres. Experience of CMM operating would be advantageous but is not essential. Visual inspection is a large part of this role. You will also be inspecting incoming parts after sub-contract treatment.
The ideal candidate for the Quality Inspector role will have:
- A good knowledge of inspection equipment.
- The ability to read engineering drawings.
- Preferably have previous experience in a similar role.
- Good communication skills.
In return the Quality Inspector can expect to receive a competitive salary, 33 days flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking. The working hours for this role can be on a variety of shifts, ie.
Days – 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 – 14:00 Friday
Rotating 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00 Weekly
A degree of flexibility will be expected if there is the requirement to cover other shifts in the case of holidays or sickness. Candidates working on the late shift will receive a shift allowance on top of their hourly rate. The role is permanent, and is monthly paid, however it is hourly paid, therefore candidates wishing to do overtime when it is available, can do and will be paid a premium for doing so.
