Qualified Social Worker, Adoption Team, North London – pay rates form £33.6Ltd per hour
Remedy Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a local authority based in North London to recruit a Qualified Social Worker to work in the Adoption Service. This is a locum position to start immediately.
You will need to have experience of undertaking family finding and providing support to adopters with children in placement along with a focus on special guardianship.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to undertake high quality assessments and provide clear analysis, within prescribed timescales.
• To be able to present, orally and in writing, this information within the context of meetings and in court where applicable.
• Ability to contribute to achieving performance targets.
• A thorough knowledge of and the ability to
• Knowledge and understanding of the placement needs of children, child protection and of child development.
• Ability to undertake recruitment, assessment, training and support of adopters and permanent carers.
• Ability to work under pressure to produce high quality reports within tight timescales, as directed by Court or requested otherwise
• Skills in assessing the support needs of children and their permanent families and planning packages of support which meet these needs effectively and within budget.
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritise a workload, to make use of supervision and take responsibility for your continuous professional development.
Essential requirements:
• Social Work qualification and HCPC registration
• Substantial post-qualifying experience in child care social work, including direct experience of adoption work
• Experience should include working directly with children and young people and their families from a linguistically, racially and culturally diverse community in the statutory or voluntary sector
• Knowledge and experience of using a range of IT applications including Microsoft Office and computer based social care record keeping systems.
• Evidence of continuous professional development
