1492 Search has an ideal opportunity for a purchaser with aerospace or manufacturing experience seeking a new job. We are helping a busy firm find a Purchasing Assistant, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?

As a flexible Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for all supply chain direct and indirect buying and will help with despatch and negotiation activities.

In your first weeks in this Purchasing Assistant role, your diverse tasks will include:

* Purchasing goods, materials or components in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

* Assisting the head of purchasing and planning to deliver greater efficiency.

* Independently exploring alternate sources for goods and materials globally.

* Preparing purchase orders in line with final negotiations and organisational requirements.

To succeed in this Purchasing Assistant job, you will need purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment. CIPS membership would also be beneficial.

* Technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and relevant machinery in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.

* Contract management and supplier experience.

* Overseas sourcing experience (desirable).
