Purchase Ledger Clerk

Salary: £28,800 per year

A retail business based in York is currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis. A competitive salary is on offer for this role, depending on experience, alongside up to 33 days holiday (with service), discount and discretionary bonus.

The Purchase Ledger would be joining a successful Finance Team looking after invoices for the wider business and further financial duties.

Reporting into the Accountant, the Purchase Ledger will be responsible for:

• Daily processing of supplier invoices, credit, debit notes and respective payments
• Process expense invoices and to assist in the preparation of regular reconciliations
• Dealing with supplier queries and correspondences
• Working as part of a team to ensure all department objectives are achieved
• Other ad hoc duties, as directed by the Accountant, to support the wider Finance Team.

To be successful in this Purchase Ledger role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in a similar Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or finance-based role
• Experience in a fast-paced, large business and Finance Team
• Have experience using accountancy software such as SAP, Xero, SAGE, Quickbooks or similar

We are keen to speak with individuals who have experience in a finance-based role or those who are keen to build a career in finance. You could also be studying your AAT or similar accountancy qualification or be a recent graduate with the drive and ambition to begin your career in finance. You may currently be a Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Assistant, Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant, or Accounts Admin.

This role is easily commutable from York, Malton, Pickering, Sheriff Hutton, Thirsk and surrounding areas. There is also free car parking on-site.
