Salary: £36,000 per year
Mercury Talent are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger for an innovative and growing company providing a bespoke product to the internal construction industry. A competitive salary of up to £36,000is on offer.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in purchase ledger or assistant accountant role. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be a positive team player with a hands-on approach to support the accounts function and the leadership team. Accuracy is essential for this role as well as the ability to work to deadlines and take ownership whilst managing your time efficiently and prioritising your workload. Knowledge of Sage is advantageous ( just upgrading to Sage 200)
Purchase Ledger key accountabilities’:
* Entering all Purchase invoices onto the system and checking against delivery notes
* Check all pricing is accuracy and query any anomalies with the supplier or internal purchaser
* Ensure all subcontractor invoices are authorised by the appropriate Project Manager before passing for payment
* Support purchasing and supply chain to open credit accounts to avoid proforma payments.
* Negotiate with suppliers to agree fair prices
* Create Purchase orders on Sage and liaise with the warehouse to accurately file all necessary delivery notes
* Work in partnership with the warehouse to ensure any product defects are discussed with the supplier
* Ensure all receipts are obtained for company credit card spend and post onto SAGE
* Carry out payment runs using SAGE and Lloyds Link. Ensure Finance Manager authorises final payment and send remittance
* Assist Finance Manager with month end and management accounts as required
* Ensure Records are up to date including DBS
