As a result of growing demand, we are looking for an experienced Public Liaison Officer to work within our UK major projects division working initially on a scheme in Essex, but flexible to work further afield if needed.

Main Responsibilities

The Public Liaison Officer will initially support projects in Essex and be flexible to support other schemes when required, in addition to providing leadership, motivation, and direction to project delivery teams. You will ensure all stakeholder and public queries and complaints are dealt with in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the complainant. You will keep a detailed Compliments/Complaints Log, ensuring all feedback is recorded, analysed and followed-up systematically. You will be responsible for meeting regularly with the Council and our Senior Project Manager to update them on the concerns and issues raised and to jointly assess the effectiveness of the communication strategy.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have a GCSE Maths / English or equivalent – Minimum Grade C. Ideally you will have suitable and relevant experience within the construction sector, or transferrable skills from other sectors. You will have extensive and demonstrable experience in either stakeholder management or liaison with the public and be confident in customer facing with the Client, other interested stakeholders and the general public. You will be a good team player able to build strong relationships. Have a positive attitude to working with people and delivering outcomes. You will be be able of empathise with people and be a good listener. You will also have strong ICT skills especially Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel & Word. A Valid UK driving licence is required for this role.
