Prototype Engineer

Salary: £30,000 per year

Applications are invited for the position of Prototyping Engineer. This highly customer-focused facility is looking for a CAD Engineer / Prototyping Engineer who will:

• Review supplied customer data files.
• Assess their suitability for manufacture with additive manufacturing technologies, available inhouse
• Prepare files for manufacture on DLP, Continuous Fiber and SLA machines and support with CAD / data manipulation.

The key areas of responsibility are:

• Inspect and review data files to assess their suitability for the build process.
• Report on their suitability and fix if necessary.
• Set up builds and transfer files to the relevant machines.
• Start and monitor builds.
• Review and report on expected build duration.
• Working on a Rota basis to cover the starting of machines over weekends.

Essential Experience / Qualities:

• 3D CAD modeling experience and 3D visualisation skills. –
• Interest and comprehension of 3D Printing, file handling and data fixing.
• Excellent communication skills, good team worker, flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent timekeeping Desirable Experience / Qualities:
• HNC or degree in a CAD or design field
• Experience in Additive manufacturing – Experience of Magics software

Full time role 37 hours per week

£30,000 per annum
