Property Accountant / Bookkeeper
Job Description
Property Accountant/Bookkeeper- Residential Property. OUR CLIENT own, manage and develop a portfolio of residential blocks and single lets across London and they have built up an impressive portfolio over the years. They are now looking for a Property Accountant / Bookkeeper to join the finance team and department. This role will be based in the office 5 days.
THE ROLE as Property Accountant/Bookkeeper will involve:
- Responsible for calculating ground rents and service charge accounts to freeholders and commercial tenants.
- Preparing profit and loss accounts.
- Preparing company annual accounts, deal with accounting queries and post audit adjustments when accounts finalised.
- Carrying out Adhoc bank payments.
- Monitoring bank balances and make inter-company bank transfers.
- Taking card/cash payments from tenants.
- Dealing with purchase ledger invoices and orders.
- Paying subcontractors and suppliers and reimbursing cash to subcontractors/staff
- Reconciling multiple bank accounts for various subsidiaries and holding companies.
- Checking utility bills and correspond with suppliers regarding move in and outs.
- Preparing VAT and CIS return for each Holding company.
- Running the payroll and entering salaries and pension payments into QuickBooks.
- Entering pension figures onto NEST account online and payment on QuickBooks.
- Reconciling petty cash.
- Preparing monthly expenditure schedules and post into accounts.
- Reconciling the purchase ledger accounts.
- Reconciling inter-company account and prepayments.
- Preparing P60’s and submit end of year tax online.
- Managing a team of 2 people.
THE PERSON: To apply for this role, you will have:
- 5+ years property finance experience.
- Most have worked for a small /SME property firm.
- Must have recent QuickBooks experience.
- Preparing Corporate financial accounts and property/service charge accounts.
- Happy to work 5 days in the office 9am – 6pm.
