Established nearly 30 years working predominantly within the London area on refurbishment, maintenance and repairs contracts with values to £400k within the commercial sector. They have an attractive order book with some blue chip clients and have an excellent reputation for delivering of projects to strict programmes to budget.
Project Manager / Small Works Manager
You will be joining a fast moving and busy team taking full responsibility for multiple projects allocated from initial enquiry and pricing through production to completion and handover with values to £400k. Projects are predominately within London and Home Counties with the person ideally being based in SE London/Kent area.
Typical tasks include; carrying out site surveys and estimates, preparing and submitting quotes to clients, planning programmes of works, arranging labour, materials, plant etc. Overseeing sub-contractors and quality of works, liaising with clients and keeping them well informed. Managing the progress of jobs, identifying problems and offering solutions. Managing spends and profitability to ensure project are within budget and to programme, reporting to the Director with detailed monitoring of costs and purchases. Preparing risk assessments and method statements as needed.
This will require you to be highly organised and manage multiple projects simultaneously allocating resources as needed to deliver projects to a high quality, safely, to programme and budget.
You will:
* Relevant experience within a UK Contractor as a Project Manager /Small Works Manager
* Experienced in surveying and pricing of projects to £400k
* Able to oversee projects from pre-tender stage through to completion and hand over
* Have first class communication and negotiation skills
* Able to motivate employees and sub-contractors
* Be commercially and contractually aware
* Have polished client facing skills
* Have a stable work history
* A full UK drivers licence
