Project Manager – Design Engineer
Guildford
We are Freehand 2010 Limited, a small medical device company based in Guildford. Our flagship product is a novel robotic system which holds and manipulates a laparoscope and camera during minimally-invasive (keyhole) surgery.
A few years ago we broadened our design and development programme to cover devices in different clinical areas and need an able Project Manager – Design Engineer to deliver these.
We offer a salary up to £45,600 p.a., dependent on skills and experience, and a Company-supported pension scheme.
Project Manager – Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as Project Manager / Design Engineer will include:
* Planning and managing the new product development project
* Working with external contacts to establish precise clinical and technical requirements
* Designing the products (3D models and 2D drawings) and arranging the manufacture of prototype and production devices
* Conducting and documenting product design reviews, risk assessments, verification and validation
* Creating detailed project records to industry/FDA standards
* Compiling the CE Marking Technical File
Project Manager – Requirements
We consider that the ideal Project Manager will have:
* An honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Solidworks CAD expertise
* Post-qualification experience in medical device product development
* Project management qualification or training
* A commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* The confidence to challenge assumptions to establish the correct product requirements
