Project Manager

My client is a small, family run construction company with a great ethos, and really looks after their staff. Once people start working there, they tend to be there for life! The company has increased their turnover over 150% in the last 5 years and are continuing to grow constantly. With that, comes the need for more staff!

Duties / Responsibilities include but not limited to:
– Agreeing project objectives.
– Overseeing and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
– Representing the client’s interests.
– Providing advice on the management of projects.
– Carrying out risk assessment.
– Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.
– Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing.
– Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
– Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
– Meeting contractual conditions of performance.
– Reviewing the work progress.
– Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
– Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
– Negotiating terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences.
– Analysing, managing and mitigating risks.
– Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
– Proven experience of managing projects
– Experience in healthcare & education (essential)
– Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
– Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
– Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
– Familiarity with construction management software packages.
– Competent in conflict and crisis management.
– Excellent time and project management skills.
– BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is advantageous.
– Previous experience of working with the pre-construction team estimating would be beneficial
