Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year
We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our busy team in Bristol.
The Role:
To manage and deliver a project through the project lifecycle to the contract to meet the Time, Cost and Quality KPIs with a broad knowledge of Project Management processes for the Naval Support Systems Business Stream.
Project Manager Duties:
Working within a business / programme environment
Managing the scope, schedule, resource and cost of a Project or multiple Projects, delivering to the contracted and required KPIs
Working with key Suppliers to ensure they deliver to their contracted commitments, managing end to end dependencies within own organisation and with suppliers
Adapt company core process to suit contract needs & establish team discipline required to accurately establish, maintain & progress project plan.
Establish & develop team organisation including integration with customer, supply chain and key stakeholders.
Identify resource requirements and manage availability with programme managers.
Adapt & apply change control mechanism to specific contract demands, ensuring integration with plan & schedules whilst maintaining / uplifting contract baseline.
Develop & maintain monitoring & control of project & company deliverables & strategic objectives.
Develop & maintain efficient, clear focussed customer & Company project status reporting.
Develop & maintain project risk & opportunity management integrated with customer, supply chain and key stakeholders.
Project Manager Knowledge, Skills And Experience:
Planning contract delivery including:
Creating the WBS, OBS & RAM
Work package development & assignment
Creating and maintaining Project Management Plans and Subcontract
Management Plans
Metric implementation
Risk Management
Planning, scheduling and resourcing
Finance tracking, control & reporting:
ETC, spend/actuals tracking, EAC
Cash flow, sales and order targets
Earned Value application, management and reporting
Partnering soft skills – across all stakeholders
Collaboration to achieve joint aims
Change control management
Contracted change – Time & cost evaluation, scope & negotiation
Engineering development change prioritisation, tracking & sanctioning
Data configuration management
Identifying & tracking design data availability & maturity across multiple system providers
Analysing impact on system design & negotiating availability of system functionality with stakeholders
Working with Supply Chain
Working with supply chain to manage relationship & performance of suppliers and subcontractors
Working with supply chain to Identify & track key subcontract performance metrics
Identifying & tracking key dependencies and interdependencies
Engineering knowledge and management
Engineering Background – degree qualified prefered in an Engineering Discipline
Setting engineering decisions & priorities from a project / business perspective
Good understanding and awareness of the Engineering Lifecycle and content of technical reviews, ideally with a strong manufacturing/production background
Bid management
Stakeholder management for intelligence gathering
Opportunity analysis leading to Win strategy & action plans
ITT / RFQ response organisation & management

Demonstrate experience of plan status & metrics analysis informing decision making, priority setting & corrective action planning to:
Maintain contract delivery verses resource availability and cost whilst maintaining system integrity & quality which are not variables.
Managing and negotiating technical discussions verses delivering to the contract.
Financial Information:
Demonstrate knowledge, experience & skills in some or all of the following:
Develop & maintain accurate ETC, EAC, Cash & trading plans
Analysis of cost trends to predict future project performance
Change impact assessment, pricing & authorisation
Estimation of PM & management elements of bid (incl 3 point estimating techniques)
Contacts And Communications:
Demonstrate knowledge, experience & skills for the delivery contracts and / or bids:
Communications planning & maintenance to manage stakeholder interests & their perception of the company WRT assigned contract(s) / project(s)
Communications skills supporting presentations, reviews & interaction with Senior Project Manager Customers & Stakeholders including military personnel
Understanding of the dynamics in an integrated team / partner environment and the management of a “no surprise” culture
Conflict resolution & negotiation skills
Special Features:
Some activities will require travel in the UK and, possibly, abroad
SC level security clearance will be required
Experience of the following is required:
Managing & leading development contracts through development, acceptance & support lifecycle, with a mix of labour and materials, with an emphasis on working with Materials / Supply Chain Management
Project Management of Naval and/or MoD Contracts
Project Management of engineering projects up to a value of £5m
APM Project Management qualification (PMP/PMQ) or equivalent
