Salary: £330 – £360 per day
Our client, a specialist engineering consultancy, requires an experienced project engineer to work on a unique and innovative project to develop a new automated analysis device to detect the SARS-CoV-2 pathogen.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for playing a key role in the development of the automated analysis device.
Responsibilities:
* Project management of components to meet required project milestones from concept engineering to launch
Ensuring program targets are met for responsible systems for cost, mass, quality, timing,
and other attributes
* Approving production processes and tooling.
* Producing product technical specifications and detailed technical reports.
* Ensuring appropriate validation testing is carried out prior to formal qualifications.
* Leading formal design reviews at the relevant design phases and ensuring actions are taken and completed on time.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be from a low volume, high complexity environment such as automotive, aerospace or defence, be degree educated & have managed development projects from cradle to grave.
* Degree educated with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering
* An ability to assimilate and evaluate technical information from a wide range of disciplines.
* Have an excellent understanding of Design processes
* An excellent understanding of DFMEA, ‘Design to Cost’ and ‘Design for Manufacture’ principles.
* Strong understanding and experience in New Product Development life cycle
This role will be remote, with some requirement to work on client site.
