Salary: £36,000 – £48,000

Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client to recruit a Project Engineer to provide engineering expertise and support to the business in enabling marine plant to be put to work to the highest levels of health and safety. The successful candidate will participate in the delivery of civil engineering projects from concept to execution, reporting to the Project Manager as required.

Responsibilities include:

* Review plant hire enquiries/tenders to determine feasibility and most suited plant and equipment.
* Project tender support role including scheme development and evaluation of project requirements including identifying required quantities, sepecification, cost and lead time of maqterials and equipment.
* Technical support (concepts, evaluation & analysis) for unusual project requirements (past example include: scour minimisation, drag assessments, bearing onto very soft ground);
* Production of quotations for Engineering works, which are to be reviewed by line manager before issue;
* Attend, and contribute to, various meetings aimed at assisting in tender/project development;
* Various calculations, working to applicable industry codes, standards & regulations for minor temporary works and equipment suitability assessments (for example Seafastening calculations, floating stability calculations and jack up suitability calculations);
* Scoping (‘high level’) calculations for the above (generally floating, structural and quantity calculations for pricing purposes);
* Production of project method statements, including risk assessments;
* Planning and support for both marine & land based lifting operations, when trained & qualified to do so;
* Production of various drawings (2D & 3D). These could include sequence diagrams, deck plans and design drawings in support of project work, using AutoCAD & Inventor;
* High level project planning tasks, including site assessments, Gant charting and lead time/risk assessment;
* Location and level surveying in a variety of applications in support of projects, when trained to do so;
* Supervising works onsite (typically barge mobilisations, concrete, piling or dredging) in support of projects;
* Production of various procedures and documentation to allow the company to progress in accreditation with various organisations;
* Assist the HSE team, when required, in their various document productions.

Qualifications and skills Required:

* Marine Site Experience
* Experience in writing method statements and risk assessments
* Familiarity of working within a ISO9001 framework
* Adept at managing client relationships
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, on all levels
* Degree in Civil or Marine Engineering
* Valid CSCS Card
