An experience Project Director with extensive experience in complex projects including, Data Centres, Hospitals. Research Labs, etc, is required to join one of the leading Client-Side Real Estate Developers on a major long-term Data Centre project in London.
This is a chance to deliver a cutting edge, hyperscale data centre in collaboration with a world leading team as well as an opportunity to take a fresh site from acquisition to handover.
This multi-award-winning company have a strong reputation in the market and have invested millions in large scale infrastructure. They now have an immediate requirement for a Project Director who can hit the ground running on a large scale, high profile project in London.
As the Project Director, you should be an accomplished individual who has experience working with Tier 1 Main Contractors and delivering cutting edge projects with high standards. The Project Director will be someone who has a proven record in taking Complex Projects or Hyperscale Data Centre Projects through the full lifecycle. In addition, you will be able to show understanding and capability of resolving complex issues and have excellent negotiation skills.
As the Project Director you should have the ability to lead the project team working for an Owner, Developer, Operator. Day to Day Manage and coordinate an IPD team of Primary Contractors to the successful delivery of a 100MW Data Centre Campus.
Roles / Responsibilities
* Support the design process through site prepared information (Stage 3) to construction information for delivery (stage 4 -5)
* Review relevant information and ensure compliance with the Employers Requirements
* (SoR’s)
* Manage the process of procuring the General Contractor (GC), sub-contract and supplier orders and authorise in line with company procedures
* Establish informal partnerships with subcontractors for key trades. Establish dialogue with the construction team throughout the process
* Engage with the main contract design team to understand the basis of design development and any changes which are being presented
* Ensure information is compliant with the Planning / Permitting requirements for the scheme
* Work effectively as part of the senior management team and take a “whole company” perspective to managing day to day project issues
* Administer agreements including the Development Agreement and Main Contract Agreement
* Provide regular reports to the Client and Customer team
* Ensure all contractual obligations are discharged in full
Key Skills & Abilities
Knowledge and Expertise
* At least 15 years of relevant professional and project delivery experiences from a client perspective and/or in construction in a multi-site Data Centre or complex project portfolio
* Experience of being involved in pitching to prospective clients
* Client-side major project management experience in challenging environments – greater than £100m – as lead PM or Project Director
* Management of multi-professional teams and projects
* Management and leadership of vendors inc. Architect, Engineers, Contractors
* In-depth knowledge of construction and capital projects strategy, markets, customers, and supply chain in region
* Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
