Capita Employee Benefits are currently seeking a Progress Application Developer to join the Hartlink online team in our Sheffield office. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing Application Developer wanting a new challenge or who is looking to further their career the pensions industry.

About the role

You will be responsible for the support, maintenance and development of Pensions web sites built on the Hartlink Online Portal using Agile SCRUM methodology to schedule and prioritise work. The application is a multi-tenant web application which controls around 100 client web sites with regular new implementations.

The team develop new functionality supporting the live sites to maintain the application you will be involved in developing new functionality, performing internal improvement cycles and providing application support. The role involves a mixture of application development, front end web development, the implementation and configuration of new client sites and providing 2nd line support.

What you will do:

Work with the Scrum Master, Product Owner and Team Leader on developments for the web application.
*

Deliver within agreed timescales, deliverables and quality sign off for developments and have input to the planning process for the team
*

Review and enhance the web offering provided by the team
*

Update, enhance and improve the portal
*

Make suggestions and improvements to the application and enhance the user experience
*

Develop projects, scheme changes, modellers, web forms and other web functionality

Your experience will include:

Web Application Development using script and framework languages
*

Database application development using query based languages (4GL)
*

Develop using Progress OpenEdge/4GL / V 11.5
*

HTML / CSS basics
*

Adaptable to varying demands and workloads.
*

Ability to work under pressure.
*

An enthusiasm for development
*

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable Experience / Skills:

*

Advanced HTML 5 and CSS 3
*

Development using the Progress 4GL development language (OpenEdge)
*

Transferable frameworks similar to Progress such as UNIFACE
