About The Role
Net Zero (EV) is recruiting for a Contracts Manager to work on our Electric Vehicle Installationcontracts across the UK.
As the Contracts Manager you will be part of our Net Zero (EV) teamwho are responsible for delivering Electric Vehicle Charger installations across the UK.
The Contracts Manager for the EV Charging team is responsible for managing the relationships with key EV Charging customer(s) in order to;

  • Ensure successful delivery of contractual obligations and meet wider customer expectations
  • Ensure early visibility of pipeline of work to support timely and efficient allocation of resource to projects
  • Ensure instructed projects are tracked against key milestones through to completion to facilitate accurate forecasting of work and resources
  • Ensure that timely actions are taken to protect MES contractually / commercially for any delays to agreed programmes
  • Drive project delivery, from early qualification of opportunities through to completion and sign-off
  • Maximise revenue and profit from the client contract through identifying opportunities for cost savings and/or additional chargeable activities
  • Build and maintain constructive and open relationships with customers in line with the MGS core value of ‘delivering what we promise’

Our strategy is to identify and partner with a few strategic customers, and then grow our portfolio of work with them as they progress in this exciting and fast-moving sector. As such, the Contracts Manager will have one primary client relationship on which to focus, but will also need to support other emerging client relationships until the point that they are ready to have a dedicated Contracts Manager allocated.
As the Contracts Manageryour responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships: building strong relationships with customers. This involves regular communication, understanding their needs and goals, and addressing any concerns or escalations
  • Developing and implementing account plans: creating and implementing strategic account plans that outline the goals and objectives of the account, as well as the actions needed to achieve them
  • Upselling and cross-selling: identifying opportunities to sell additional products or services to existing customer(s), which can increase revenue, deepen the relationship
  • Providing customer support: being the first point of contact for customer questions or issues; responsible for addressing these inquiries promptly and effectively
  • Monitoring contract performance: tracking contract performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjusting our approach as needed to maximise our returns from the customer relationship
  • Collaborating with internal teams: working closely with internal and subcontractor teams, such as BD, marketing, product development and operational delivery, to ensure customer needs are met and that we are providing the best possible service
  • Forecasting and reporting: forecasting contract financial performance and reporting on service delivery internally to senior management and externally in line with customer contract governance requirements

Skills & Knowledge Requirements for the Contracts Manager role:
Essential

  • Project management – must be able to manage complex projects, including developing project plans, tracking progress, and managing resources
  • Resilience and perseverance – must be able to think creatively to solve issues and resolve complexities in this fast-moving sector
  • Sales – to identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate deals, and close sales
  • Communication Skills – to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with clients, team members, and other stakeholders
  • Relationship Building – listening to customer needs, being responsive to their concerns, and providing exceptional service
  • Teamwork – be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other areas of the MGS Energy Division to deliver objectives
  • Industry Knowledge – a deep understanding of the energy / EV charging industry, including trends, competitors, and market conditions
  • Energy Infrastructure knowledge – minimum of five years’ experience working in the energy infrastructure sector
  • Construction / Utilities services knowledge – minimum of two years’ experience working in organisations involved in the delivery of construction or infrastructure projects
  • P&L Leadership – minimum of five years’ responsibility with quantifiable results in customer-facing roles (e.g. contract negotiation, administration and/or management)
  • Sector knowledge – knowledge, previous experience and network within the utilities sector
  • Partnership building – must be able to build and maintain partnerships with other organisations and stakeholders

Desirable

  • Financial management – must be able to manage P&Ls, identify additional revenue sources, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and regulations
  • Strategic thinking – must be able to think strategically to develop and implement effective solutions that align with MGS and the EV business’s objectives
  • Degree qualified

  • Project Management software skills
  • Contract modelling software skills
  •  Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
