A growing manufacturer is seeking a Production Engineer to join their production team in this great opportunity. The individual will be responsible for planning, documenting and reviewing manufacturing and handling methods used with the factory. As well as designing and implementing suitable tooling, jigs, fixtures and production equipment.
Continual review of the manufacturing process and the development and implementation of manufacturing efficiency improvement plans.
Ensuring optimisation of the manufacturing process, adhering to lean philosophies wherever possible.
Liaison with Design and Development Engineers advising on design for manufacture and appropriate manufacturing methods for new products.
Investigation, justification and implementation of new assembly methods and equipment. Advise on suitability of modern best practice methodology and carrying out pilot studies where appropriate.
Be proficient in the use of the companies ERP system, be able to interrogate the system for reference and BOM changes to measure impact to the manufacturing team.
Liaison with Quality Control to source and solve causes of assembly related product defects.
Project management of new products into production. Provision of all facilities, benches, layout designs, parts storage facilities, tooling and build plans. Liaise with Product Development Department to determine training requirements.
Liaison with suppliers to determine optimum kitting for components to facilitate minimum in-house handling.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in production engineering together with process improvement skills within a manufacturing environment.
