Hours: 8:30-5 Mon-Thurs, 8:30-3:45 Fri
Salary up to 25K + excellent benefits (see below)
Permanent Position in West, Greater Manchester
The Company
My client is a continuous process manufacturing organisation based near Wigan, Greater Manchester and are currently seeking to add an experienced Proudction Planner to their team. The company are a multimillion-pound business, part of alrger American organisation and they manufacture specialist products supplying to a worldwide customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and processing requests based on machine & material availability.
- Scheduling production orders to ensure that each process is efficiently loaded.
- Ensuring material requirements are matched with Procurement, identifying any risks due to material shortages
- Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure delivery targets are met and transport partners to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
- Interface with other department staff to schedule maintenance, development and process improvement activities.
- Maintain and manage production schedules
You should:
- hold a good level of Maths and English proficiency (i.e. GCSE or equivalent)
- have excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong pla ning, organisational and IT skills (MS Office, in particular Excel)
- have some experience as a production planner or scheduler, ideally from within a fast paced distribution or (even better) a manufacturing environment
- knowledge of transportation and customs requirements would be a distinct advantage in this role, as would experience with ERP/MRP and CRM systems
