Description
My client is an innovative designer and manufacturer of complex, sophisticated systems, used in a wide range of novel applications.
Ongoing growth has created this new role as Production and Purchasing Manager, primarily to oversee and take responsibility for multi-discipline production teams, production testing and procurement. Given anticipated orders, this role will additionally be pivotal in the scaling up of production to facilitate increasing throughput.
Responsibilities will include:
Using established ERP/MRP Systems to oversee the production process and schedule.
Implementation of a Continuous Improvement (CI) plan to drive up both the efficiency and quality of the production process.
The collation and analysis of production data and subsequent reporting.
The sourcing and management of new and existing suppliers.
Liaison with Sales to monitor and forecast future demand.
Cost reduction of goods in line with company targets.
Monitoring, managing and mentoring staff reports.
Ensuring safe working practices and conditions.
Previous related experience is essential, along with an awareness of agile methodology, Kanban, Lean manufacturing and how these may relate to an SME.
An awareness and ability to quickly assimilate with precision mechanical, powering electrical, control / analytical electronics and user display software systems. A higher engineering qualification would be a distinct advantage.
