Product Engineer

Salary: £26,000 – £27,600 per year

Product Engineer – South Shields – £21k – £23k + benefits
Our client is a well-established e-commerce company based in South Shields, due to growth and expansion in online sales they are now looking to recruit a Product Engineer. Product Engineering is a major part of this company’s processes, investing heavily in the product cycle focusing on retail and direct to consumer products across multiple product categories.
The role is hands-on role from the initial assessments to testing the functionality and potential misuse of the product, reporting positive and negative points to enhance the Product Engineering process. You will also support the technical and product development team with claims substantiation, analysis of products that have been returned, looking at product reviews from customers and web star, and making recommendations. Writing reports, reviewing, and collating product data from trial reports, ensuring instruction manuals are user friendly to the consumer and product certifications meet legal requirements are also key components of the job.
The ideal candidate:
* Will have a technical/engineering related background with some previous experience.
* Knowledge of material technologies and manufacturing processes is desirable or someone with a keen interest in new products and product development.
* You must be highly organised and able to multitask on several projects at the same time.
* Relevant qualification to HNC level in engineering or have a good understanding of product certification requirements (desired)
* Be a team player, quick learner, and first-class communicator, and able to work with Excel, Word and Power Point.
