Product Developer

Overall Objective:

The Product Developer will be responsible for spearheading the introduction of new product builds into the business. They will oversee the entire process, ensuring product quality, suitability, and adequate volumes to meet the business needs. The role involves evolving the product pipeline with innovative tests, closely collaborating with the Trading Management team to align products with the monthly business plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Independently build products, safeguarding current trends and leveraging successful historical products. Identify and propose new concepts aligned with emerging opportunities.
  • Workflow Management: Effectively manage workflow alongside the Product Manager in a composed and professional manner.
  • Product Pitching: Confidently present and pitch new products, substantiating proposals with factual data and facilitating pricing negotiations.
  • Innovation and Enhancement: Generate new product ideas and enhance the existing product range by leveraging historical data and evolving unique selling propositions (USPs) or regional aspects.
  • Market Analysis and Trends: Utilize current market trends and competitor analysis to introduce new products into the pipeline.
  • Pipeline Support: Aid the pipeline planner and monthly product plans, ensuring timely updates and meeting all deadlines.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Confidently oversee the entire lifecycle of new products, ensuring a smooth handover to the Sales team, meticulously tracking product progress through testing phases, and reviewing performance with the Commercial Team until final approval.
  • Stock Management: Set up cruise groups to manage stock and coordinate handover processes to the Global Product Admin Team and Product Support for effective allocation management.
  • Competitor Awareness: Stay updated on key competitor activities by subscribing to competitor e-shots and reviewing press advertising regularly.
  • Performance Evaluation: Review the commercial and operational performance of each product, on sale and off sale, to capture successes for future products and identify areas for improvement.
  • Problem Resolution: Confidently address problems and proactively suggest viable solutions.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments including Commercial, Contracting, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to ensure seamless product delivery and effective communication across departments.
