Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

Product design engineer (Medical devices) Southall, London £35,000-£40,000 + Flexible working hours + Hybrid working + Pension + holiday Are you a product design engineer that would love the opportunity to join an early stage start up where you will be a vital cog in the wheel? Do you want a role where you will play a key part in taking a product that will saves lives to the commercial market? This impressive company have developed a ground breaking device that is generating interest from several industries. They have recently been awarded several funding grants which are now enabling them to expand their team with this Product Design Engineer role. In this role the product design engineer will take current lab prototypes and transform them into a human-centred, commercially viable product. The ideal candidate will have experience designing a product that has had to have aspects of ergonomic design and human factors involved. This is an amazing opportunity for a product design engineer to join a rapidly expanding company where you will play a vital role In their growth and development. The role: *Take current lab prototypes and transform them into a human-centred, commercially viable product. *Work closely with the 5-person in-house R&D team and engage with several existing key stakeholders and end-users across professional sports, defence, construction, and healthcare. *Conduct key usability design testing – their device is intended for lay-person use and requires detailed consideration of its operation with a range of end-user profiles. The conditions in which the device will be operated will be physically and psychologically challenging – seamless and high-quality user-centred design is fundamental for successful industry adoption. *Mapping and detailed design consideration to all user touch points and interactions. *Development of Instructions for use and optimising operations of the device for ease of use, and speed of deployment. *Performance of their product relies on high quality, consistent skin adhesion – design for a range of user profiles and morphologies is required to ensure reliable performance across a range of end-user demographics. *Play a fundamental role in analysing the results from several clinical and usability trials with key customers across professional sports, defence, construction, mining & healthcare. The person: *Product design engineering experience (aesthetics/end product) *Ergonomic design experience *Wearables experience *UI/UX experience – product not digital! *Candidates with a medical device background are encouraged to apply.
