We are looking for a Procurement Assistant on a full-time permanent basis in the Birmingham area.You will be responsible for the procurement of materials and plant for a Ground works Construction company. Working as part of a small team you will be buying materials and arranging the hire of plant/tools. Responsibilities:- Assisting with the procurement process of Plant/Tools and Materials, including sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating with suppliers.- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.- Assist with material take offs for bulk orders and assisting the commercial team with pricing for project tenders.- Ensure quality and performance of ordered materials are in line with required standards, chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue or urgent, inform relevant persons of all relevant information regarding changes.- Assist with stock returns on surplus materials from site and/or moving to new projects.- Assist in the resolution of any issues or invoice disputes with suppliers- Obtain technical data sheets and assisting surveyors/project managers with any information required on project specific products when required.- Prepare and compile project O&M manuals with assistance from Project teams.- Assist with stock returns on surplus materials from site and/or moving to new projects.- Updating company systems when necessary (hires and off hires). Assist with managing of vehicle/plant records returned from site, ensuring they are maintained and up to date:Checking weekly plant and material returns (submitted from site)Live hire reports from hire companiesLifting equipment & Fire extinguishersSite consumables Working hours Monday – Friday 0800-1700 (40 hours per week)No weekends 20 days holiday + Statutory Bank HolidaysCompany specific training will be provided£30,000 To be considered for this role previous experience in procurement is not essential as you will be trained.
