Salary: £13.39 per hour

Job Purpose
Responsible for the delivery of identified operational tasks for all Wastewater Treatment Assets over a designated asset base, to support the achievement of regulatory, financial, customer and key business performance targets.

To ensure all assets are operated to efficiently meet all regulatory compliance and Customer Service standards. To include sampling, taking readings, analysing, cleaning UWWTD, MCERTS Responsible for recording and reporting operational performance information, proactively identifying poor performance and implementing corrective actions within Health & Safety requirements, d escalating regulatory or performance risks to the Process Controller.

Accurately record planned and reactive work on a daily basis in line with scheduling system. Maintain a technical capability and competence at a local level, to achieve and maintain a Licence to Operate status that will improve regulatory and business performance.

You will report to the Wastewater Production Manager, and will be an integral member of a team of up to 25 Treatment employees. You will be part of a local team of Operators and Process Controllers who are supported by a Wastewater Technical Officer for the District and an Operations Assistant You will also be required to have a close interface on a daily basis with Resource Co-ordinators and Field Service Engineers to ensure the delivery of operational and maintenance activities on treatment assets.

You will complete required operational and maintenance activities on site. Report and respond via work scheduling to ensure compliance and optimisation of Wastewater Treatment assets. The asset base could range across several sites down to a focus on individual parts of process due to specific needs or requirements

Accountabilities
* Undertake operational activities on a variety of Wastewater Treatment Processes to ensure compliance with Environmental Regulations and key business performance targets.
* Carry out a number of physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment
* Carry out work as scheduled by Work Planning
* Identify reactive and proactive work orders
* Record and update electronic work orders on the corporate system
* Record and use operational data to effectively monitor Wastewater Treatment processes and report exceptions to Process Controllers
* Identify and take action to resolve any asset failure and poor performance of Wastewater Treatment processes
* Adhere to Health & Safety requirements to comply with regulations and internal Company policies
* Achieve and maintain a Licence to operate for Wastewater Treatment processes, as determined by the Wastewater Production Manager

Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of Wastewater Treatment assets and processes are required to effectively monitor and control the asset base.
* It is expected that the role holder can demonstrate practical experience working in an Operational environment.
* A basic understanding of environmental output standards and procedures in the Wastewater Industry to help achieve compliance with product quality and data reporting requirements.
* A basic knowledge of computers is required typically, including but not limited to, reporting work order status, recording process data and communicating electronically with colleagues and the Production Manager.
* The role holder will be expected to achieve a NVQ2 or equivalent qualification

Desirable Criteria
* Must be literate and numerate with good computer skills
Additional Information
* Identifying changes in process performance and deciding on the appropriate corrective action.
* Completing planned operational and maintenance activities, whilst addressing reactive work orders generated by asset or process failure.
* Full and accurate data reporting on time on a daily basis to facilitate effective work scheduling whilst meeting the operational requirement of the assets
* A close relationship with Process Controllers and Resource Co-ordinators will be required to plan and record activities undertaken.
* Other relationships include liaison with Tanker Drivers, Maintenance and Technical Officers to conduct operational activities.
* Escalate issues, where appropriate to Process Controller.
