The Company:

This company is a leading European buyout firm, founded in 1977, with offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Hong Kong. They acquire European-based companies that require an equity investment by our funds of €100 million or more. Their European focus and expertise are complemented by an ability to capitalise on global growth opportunities through their Asian office. They focus on six sectors: Business Services, Consumer, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrials, and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT).

The company acquires successful, high-quality companies and works with them to help them grow and develop, using proven value creation strategies. Typically, they their investments for between four to six years. Since the firm was founded it has completed transactions valued at in excess of €67 billion. As such they are highly prestigious reputation in the world private equity.

Part of the reason of their success is their multi-national, multi-lingual investment team that is considered to be one of the most experienced and stable in the industry: many of the partners have worked together since 1988.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be engaged in a wide variety of tasks, including helping the investment team with analysing potential acquisitions; carrying out strategic market and competitor analysis; and working to build an in-depth understanding of individual business models and their cost structures.

Training and Development

The intern will be expected to provide support for all of the company’s teams and complete projects as needed. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain exposure to the huge variety of work that they do and will provide a complete emersion into the world of Private Equity. If perform well then this has the chance to become a permanent position.

Requirements:

Have 2.1 or above from a top-class university in an appropriate field of study, such as finance, maths, or strategy.
Have at least 6 months of relevant work experience in a top tier bank or consultancy.
Have a genuine interest and well researched understanding of the Private Equity industry and in the organisation.
Advanced excel ability and an understanding of complex financial models.

Location: Central London

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 4 months (If you perform well then this has the opportunity to turn into a permanent position).

Salary: £2,400per month
