Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Location: Teesside

Our client is a large multinational engineering company with a vast portfolio of projects in the Process & Energy sectors, with a particular emphasis on Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects. We currently have a staff requirement for a Principal Electrical Engineer to work at our client’s office in Teesside on a permanent basis.

The Role
We require a Principal Electrical Engineer with management experience to help support and grow an engineering team that will execute FEED and detailed design projects. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Lead Electrical, Control and Instrument team at Teesside office, be the focal point for the team.
– Undertake projects, studies and prepare cost estimates.
– Develop the full scope of the project including FEED, detail design, procurement, installation inspection, testing and commissioning.
– Manage allocated hours, budgets and report progress to Project Manager.
– Manage a team of engineers and designers on project.
– Undertake Electrical engineering design work with a true regard to safety both in design detail and engineering design execution.
– Plan discipline works scope with CTR definition and schedule.
– Provide technical leadership to the design team and help with recruitment of other team members.

Candidate
The candidate will be a Principal Electrical Engineer with management experience and should be a member of an appropriate institute, preferably degree qualified with EPC project experience in a Principal/Lead engineering role. The Principal Electrical Engineer will have experience of electrical engineering in a wide range of process plants (Petrochem, Oil & Gas and Chemical), both new build and plant modification. The candidate should have good knowledge of BS7671, ATEX and hazardous area applications, Amtech or ETAP. Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential in order to confidently have interface with the client.
