Principal Civil Engineer

Principal Civil Engineer Salary Range: Up to £57,000subject to qualifications and experience

Principal Civil Engineer Company Description: Our client is a forward thinking Oxfordshire based Civil and Structural Engineering practice that has considerable expertise in the design of roads, highways, housing, drainage infrastructure and building structures.

Principal Civil Engineer Job Description: They are seeking a recently chartered Principal Civil Engineer or near chartered Principal Civil Engineer to join there growing Engineering team to work on a diverse and challenging range of projects.

Principal Civil Engineer Reporting directly to the Technical Civil Engineering Director, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee all aspects of the design from inception to the production of as-built drawings. In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to mentor less experienced civil engineers and technicians within the office.

The Principal Civil Engineer role will be client facing and therefore strong interpersonal and communicative skills are essential.

Principal Civil Engineer Candidates will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of all Sectional Agreements required to obtain technical approval for highway and drainage scheme, e.g. Section 104, Section 278 etc.

Furthermore the Principal Civil Engineer candidate will be familiar with the Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM and be able to prepare Flood Risk Assessments. Knowledge of the Flood and Water Management Act and its implications on the design of drainage schemes will be beneficial.

The Principal Civil Engineer candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroDrainage, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D would be particularly advantageous.
