The first is a glowing academic record, beginning with excellent grades at GCSE and A-Level and finishing university with ideally a 1st class or high 2:1 in your degree. The second essential is a firm desire to begin a career in primary education with the ability to demonstrate this through unrelenting enthusiasm for the role. The Role

This Teaching Assistant role is focused on helping pupils of a lower ability maintain and exceed the national average. The diverse intake of pupils means that many pupils speak ‘English as an Additional Language’ and really benefit from 1:1 support in the classroom. You will help these EAL pupils make progress with their linguistic abilities through the use of phonics and language activities. Other pupils who make rapid progress with the help of Teaching Assistants will be allocated to you in small groups, and you will help them meet and achieve beyond their targets in Literacy and Numeracy. You will receive ongoing and thorough training and the very best candidates may be offered a chance to train directly with the school.
