Location:- South West London/ Clapham

School:- Outstanding 2 form entry Primary School

Start Date:- ASAP

Hours:- 2pm until 6pm – 5 days per week. Term time only

Reeson Education are working with a delightful primary school located in the heart of South London that are seeking a Clerical Officer to join their school asap. The role will be based on working 20 hours per week and will be based on term time only. The role will be based on a temporary to permanent contract.

The position of Clerical Officer is an important role within this school as you will be first point of contact for visitors, parents and staff. As Clerical Officer you will be part of a small team of office staff and you will report direct to the officer manager and school business manager.

Main responsibilities

To provide a warm, efficient and welcoming front line service for parentsand visitors to Jessop Primary School.

To form good relationships with the children, their families, and withcolleagues.

To answer the telephone and deal with queries, and to ensure thatmessages are communicated promptly, particularly to staff members.

To manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met and that a qualityservice is provided.

To be responsible for the office machines, i.e. franking machine, faxmachine, Risograph, photocopiers and telephone system. Advising of

consumables required, dealing with minor problems and arranging

service/repair as appropriate.

To assist in the despatch of all aspects of information to both parents andothers as directed.

To assist in the production, copying and distribution of the Annual Report toParents, and other reports and/or letters as required.

To sell miscellaneous school items to parents and students, issue receiptsand keep records of sales as appropriate.

To be responsible for booking coaches and transport as required for schooltrips and journeys.

To undertake routine administrative duties, including word processing,maintaining computer database, reprographics and filing.

To assist with the provision of administrative and clerical work under thedirection and guidance of the School Business Manager.

In the absence of the School Business Manager or to deal with routineadministrative tasks such as opening the post.

To carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time asdetermined by the School Business Manager or the Head teacher.

To be the first point of contact for First Aid/medical issues.
Having an awareness of confidential issues linked tohome/pupil/teacher/school work and to keep confidences appropriately.

Liaise with outside agencies, including the school nurse, school dentist,school photographer and other representatives as necessary.

To maintain the website and diary and circulate as appropriate.
To work collaboratively with other administration staff in completingworkload on a daily/weekly basis.

Undertake such other duties as may be required to meet the needs of theservice.

Requirements
· At least 5 GCSE’s or equivalent 2 of which must be in Maths and English grade C or above.
· First Aid Qualification
· Typing Qualification

Typing speed of 45wpm +
· Highly skilled in Microsoft Office packages
· Experience of office procedures and practices
Able to effectively prioritise
· Excellent telephone manner
