Post 16 Teacher with Austism Experience

A Post 16 Teacher is required for a maternity cover in specialist school teaching small classes of young adults who are on the Autistic Spectrum.

The post is for 5 days per week in North Gloucestershire and starts in mid-October. It will involve working as part of a team, with a team of dedicated teaching assistants who provide fantastic support to the children.

The role will be delivering an engaging curriculum and requires a versatile teacher who is creative and caring in their approach. The students are vulnerable and need that little bit extra support.

The school has an excellent reputation for providing education to Autistic children and is a great place to work, the staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive of one another. The role can be challenging but is extremely rewarding.

Any previous experience of teaching children with SEN particularly Autism would be highly beneficial, but is not essential.

Ideally you will have:

* Hold a recognised teaching qualification with SEN experience

*The ability to follow the National Curriculum and provide creative lessons

*A positive approach to teaching

*The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
